A baggage occupying a seat paid by the passenger for securing valuable baggage such as religious items, musical instruments, etc.
The item must meet the following criteria:
- Only one item per seat is allowed
- Item must be properly packed to avoid possible injury to passengers/crew
- Weight of the item should not exceed 32kg.
- Height of the item must not exceed the height of the backrest at its highest position

Free Baggage Allowance
Know the size, number of baggage and weight requirements you can check-in and handcarried baggage you can bring into the cabin free of charge.
Travelling on Philippine Airlines (PR) and PAL Express
If you are traveling solely on Philippine Airlines (PR) for the duration of your journey, please familiarize yourself with our baggage rules.
If your journey involves multiple airline partners, please be aware that baggage rules may vary.
Important Notice
Each flight ticket has its own Free Baggage Allowance policy. This FBA entitlement is valid only on that specific flight and may not necessarily apply to your connecting flights. PAL or other carriers may require you to pay excess baggage fees if your FBA entitlement is lower on your connecting flights.
Passengers are advised not to put money, jewelry, precious metal, silver ware, negotiable papers, securities, or other valuables (like cameras, electronic devices), business documents, passports and other identification documents or samples in their check-in baggage.
Infant’s Baggage
An infant may also be allowed one fully collapsible stroller or infant’s carrying basket or infant’s car seat subject to availability of space.
Music instruments
Guitars cannot fit in the overhead compartment of the aircraft or under the passenger seats. To ensure accommodation on flight, all guitars shall be accepted only as check-in baggage whether contained in a hard or soft case. Musical instruments shall be free of charge if within the free baggage allowance of the passenger and within 39inches (100cm) in length.

Otherwise, the musical instrument shall be considered as an additional one-piece baggage (for piece system) or excess in weight (for weight system) in addition to the applicable Free Baggage Allowance and Excess Baggage Charge shall apply.
Other musical instruments that cannot fit in the overhead compartment should be checked-in.
Please ensure the item is in proper package to avoid breakage. PAL will not be held liable for any damage that may occur during transit. of inadequately packaged guitars and other musical instruments.
